Getaways – What Fuels our Passion for Making Connections – Part 1 of 6

by David Revelle, Shepherd’s Fortress Ministries, Associate Director - PastorCare

I serve as Executive Director of Shepherd’s Fortress Ministries. We serve pastors from around the United States, and from other countries, through our website. We connect leaders with opportunities to be refreshed in the presence of the Lord.

I also have the privilege of serving as Associate Director of the PastorCare Network, and as a Regional Director for Tennessee, Kentucky, and a few states in the upper Midwest. My primary role with PastorCare is providing getaway connections for pastors as their requests are received online.

Here is a glimpse of my heart’s desire as I pray for the spiritual health of those in ministry when preparing a list of getaway options for them:

1. The Spirit of Worship: John 4:23, “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.” A.W. Tozer once said, “God wants worshipers before workers; indeed, the only acceptable workers are those who have learned the lost art of worship.”

2. Sound Doctrine: 2 Timothy 2:15, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a worker who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.” We pray for pastors to have a genuine love for truth found only in the Word of God in the day in which we live.

It would be our pleasure to serve you! Feel free to connect with PastorCare, and we will send you a link to an online form where you may offer some information to us regarding your desired getaway that will help us in providing a list of possibilities for you to consider.

To every pastor, thank you so much for the many sacrifices that you make to serve and minister to God’s people!
