  • 1700 - 1800 pastors per month, leave the ministry due largely to ministry burnout, contention in their churches, or moral failure.
 
  • 80% of those who enter the ministry will leave the ministry within the first five years.
 
  • 80% of pastors and 84% of their spouses feel unqualified and discouraged in their roles as pastors.
 
 
According to Focus on the Family...
 
  • The clergy has the second highest divorce rate among all professionals.
  • 70% of pastors do not have someone they consider a close friend.
  • 50% of pastors feel unable to meet the needs of the job, experienced depression or burnout to the extent that they needed to take a leave of absence from ministry.
  • 40% of pastors report a serious conflict with a parishioner at least once a month.
 
According to the Ministering to Ministers Foundation...
 
  • Over 1600 protestant ministers in the United States are forced out of their positions each month.
  • Only 54% go back into a full-time church related positions.
  • Nearly 1 in 4 pastors experienced a forced termination at least once during their ministry.

 

The Realities

 

  • 80% of pastors and 84% of (pastors') spouses feel unqualified and discouraged in their roles.

  • 45% of pastors say that they’ve experienced depression or burnout to the extent that they needed to take a leave of absence from ministry.

  • About 50% pastors have had internet porography exposure.
