Be Encouraged, Pastor! - June 15, 2025

Pastor’s Church and Pastor’s Family Prayer Points for June 15-21, 2025 - Happy Father’s Day

PRAYER FOCUS — WALKING AS JESUS WALKED

PERSONAL REFLECTION: “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8).

· To walk as Jesus walked is to walk in the power of the Spirit as He promised and to be witnesses.

· Who are the people in your sphere of influence — family, neighbors, co-workers — pray for them by name and ask the Lord to open doors to be a witness to them.

· Pray for your city — for an awakening that the Word of God would be preached and people come to faith in Him.

· Pray for those the Lord has brought to our country that they might know and follow Jesus. (PrayFirst)

In addition, pray these prayer points daily for our church and community. (Use the June National Prayer Points.)

  1. Heavenly Father, bless our fathers today and every day. When they are tired, overwhelmed, or feeling weak, give them the strength to continue loving, and working. Give them the courage to stand strong. Give them the anchor of Your Way. In Jesus’ name, Amen. (Hallow.com)

  2. I ask You, Father God, to increase my faith and to use me in ways that I have never considered, or thought were important before.  I ask You, Lord God, to stretch my faith to believe in You for more than I do now in Jesus’ name.  Amen.

  3. Lord God, You have told me to deal quickly with disputes in my life and not to allow them to linger.  You, Lord, tell me to get to the heart of a matter, so I must deal with it for a possible resolution.  I commit myself to do that and I ask You to help me to see how to “agree quickly” even as my emotions are doing cartwheels.  Thank You for showing me this and enabling me in Jesus’ name.  Amen.

  4. Lord God, I pray for God’s blessings and wisdom for our Pastor (spouse), myself (spouse), Doris & Allen, and our families, as we navigate an ever-changing culture. I pray for the Holy Spirit to refresh and renew us day by day. I pray for God to give us strength, courage and the anointing of the Holy Spirit to withstand pressures to compromise the teaching of Scriptures. I pray for God to lead in all decisions and for all of us to be given a renewed dependence on You, Lord, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Thank God for U.S. commitments to Jesus - According to the most recent Barna study shows that 66 percent of all U.S. adults say they have made a personal commitment to Jesus that is still important in their life today. This marks a 12%-point increase since 2021, when commitment levels reached their lowest in more than three decades. (barna.com).

Pray for an end to the antisemitism in this country. Christian leaders are expressing solidarity with the Jewish people after a terror attack targeting Jews perpetrated by an illegal immigrant in Boulder, Colorado, leaving several people injured, marking the second attack directed at Jews on United States soil in less than two weeks. (Christian Post).

Propped up in Prayer

“So, Peter was kept in prison, but earnest prayer for him was made to God by the church.” (Acts 12:5)

In Acts 12 there is a powerful picture of how God works through prayer. Peter was in prison but "earnest prayer for him was made to God by the church."(vs.5) Read on in chapter 12 about how God worked. An angel showed up, his chains fell off, the prison opened, many were amazed, a wicked king was struck down and eaten by worms and other detailed circumstances. When Peter made his way out of the prison following the angel, he proceeded to the house of John Mark's mother – Mary – where the people in the house were "gathered together in prayer"! (vs12)

I cannot emphasize the need to be in tune with God and allow Him to lay things on my heart that He wants me to talk to Him about! I cannot live this life without continuing to allow God's input in the things that burden me. I am not smart enough to fix things or maneuver through my days of people and circumstances. Me, my family and the ministry God has given us CANNOT live without divine guidance and intervention.

2 Corinthians 1:11 "You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many." This ministry of prayer props us up, and we are encouraged. All of us need to be "propped up" in prayer. “Prop us up in prayer!”

Be Encouraged, Pastor!

Great Sunday morning!

“Hear my son, your father‘s instructions, and forsake not your mother‘s teaching, for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck.”

On this Father’s Day as we stand to minister may we be reminded that our instruction must be biblical, practical, and practiced not simply theoretical.

Happy Father’s Day to you and yours!

The (2014) PCN website was dedicated to the memory of Rev. G. David Korsen, who gave of his expertise, time and passion to create the first PCN website. He served as Communications Director from March of 2009 until his graduation from this life on April 23, 2013. Dave’s caring heart and infectious laugh were the entry to the deep well of God’s grace that flowed through him — the essence of PastorCare.
