Getaways – Part 2 of 6
Getaways – What Fuels our Passion for Making Connections – Part 2 of 6
by David Revelle, Shepherd’s Fortress Ministries, Associate Director - PastorCare
We are thrilled to connect with pastors who are looking to get away and spend quality time in the presence of the Lord to refresh and renew in Christ Jesus!
There is a powerful prayer found in Colossians chapter 1, verses 9-12, that is kept in our hearts for each pastor as a list of getaway options is prepared and provided to them:
“For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and long suffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.”
We specifically pray these powerful promises found in the above verses over pastors, confident our Lord will grant a deeper level of:
• Spiritual Discernment
• Spiritual Maturity
• Spiritual Fruit-bearing in every good work... “much fruit” as Jesus desires in John 15:5, 8.
Pastors, in addition to this,
• We pray the blessings of the Lord over you in your walk with Jesus.
• We pray the blessings of the Lord over your family and their walk with Jesus.
• We pray the blessings of the Lord over the congregation that you are called to serve, that the Church would be a spiritual ER, rescuing souls from sin and darkness.
“...And upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
– Matthew 16:18b
It would be our pleasure to serve you! Feel free to connect with PastorCare, and we will send you a link to an online form where you may offer some information to us regarding your desired getaway that will help us in providing a list of possibilities for you to consider.
Pastors, thank you for the many sacrifices that you make to love and lead the Church!
