Be Encouraged, Pastor! - December 07, 2025

“Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?” declares the Lord. “These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word.”

– Isaiah‬ ‭66‬:‭2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

As we serve the Lord today, look on me with Your favor, Lord! I received it!

Be Encouraged, Pastor!

Many churches will continue to walk through the advent season.

The second week is the Bethlehem candle, or peace candle.

We somehow always think of peace as being the ‘shalom’ of the Old Testament or the ‘I-ray-nay’ of the New Testament.

But there are two other uses of the word peace in the New Testament.

It is the peace that comes by the commander of God that overcomes the storm, ‘peace be still’.

It is also the command of peace that mandates obedience , ‘hold your peace’.

Let us not short change the peace of Jesus and miss its power and position.

Peace! Tend to but contend for the faith! Let us be busy with the work God has called and established in us!

PastorCare never charges a fee for services. It is a purely faith-based, non-profit 501©3 ministry. PastorCare is supported by donations, gifts and a volunteer network of caregivers and service providers. Retired pastors, missionaries and volunteer lay-persons encourage and assist pastors and their families who contact PastorCare. Our goal is to meet the need and revitalize God’s ministering servants to continue the call to serve.

The (2014) PCN website was dedicated to the memory of Rev. G. David Korsen, who gave of his expertise, time and passion to create the first PCN website. He served as Communications Director from March of 2009 until his graduation from this life on April 23, 2013. Dave’s caring heart and infectious laugh were the entry to the deep well of God’s grace that flowed through him — the essence of PastorCare.
