UNDERTAKER (“Oh Lord, I am oppressed, under take for me!” Is. 38:14)

Not on the top ten names for God. I’ve ever heard Him addressed as Undertaker. Yet the plea “under take for me” resonates within, My Redeemer’s merciful love covers my multitude of missed marks. He buries my contrite confessions in His sea of forgetfulness. He transforms that which is dead. He preserves that which is precious to Him (He “preserves the way of His saints” Prov 2:8). The name fits.

Weighty matters have their own way of piling up and piling on. When I’m under pressure, under fire, under the circumstances, under the weather, under edicts of others, under the covers...hiding; You, Father, are my Undertaker.

TAKE these cavernous cares UNDER Your loving care. Thank You that You are the God of All Comfort. TAKE my numerous needs UNDER Your abundant provision. Thank You that You are my All Sufficient One. TAKE over the controls for things that are out of my control. UNDER Your guidance, You will work all things for my good. Thank You that You are my All Knowing, All Seeing, Only Wise Father.

TAKE my weaknesses (they are many!) UNDER Your strength and grace. I can be an overcomer of these weighty matters.

Thank You that You are My Rock, My Refuge, My Present Help...So be it!

Thank you to Barbara Watson (a long time friend) for these encouraging insights!

Be Encouraged, Pastor!

This Sunday morning may we have the heart and mindset we find in Psalms 133. One of the songs of ascent!  Singing it on the way to church! Unity and fellowship is sweet, sacred, and sanctified!

Have a Super Sunday!

The (2014) PCN website was dedicated to the memory of Rev. G. David Korsen, who gave of his expertise, time and passion to create the first PCN website. He served as Communications Director from March of 2009 until his graduation from this life on April 23, 2013. Dave’s caring heart and infectious laugh were the entry to the deep well of God’s grace that flowed through him — the essence of PastorCare.
