Daily Prayers

with Dr. Allen Tyndall, lead director of PastorCare

JUNE prayers from Dr. Allen Tyndall:

*June 1
Scripture Readings: Psalm 104:1-9, 2 Samuel 19, I Corinthians 12
Reflection Verses: I Corinthians 12:27-28
Prayer: Lord God, You have given each believer a gift. This is not a natural ability but a gift to be used
specifically in the church. In I Corinthians 12 Paul lists these gifts. As the believers in the church work
together, the gifts we have been given function together to bring unity and power to Your church, making
it a unique and caring organization. Thank You, Lord, for my gift(s) You have given to me to bring Your
church to unity and maturity. I praise and honor Your Holy Name above all names in Jesus’ name.
Amen.

*June 2
Scripture Readings: Psalm 104:10-26, 2 Samuel 20-21, I Corinthians 13
Reflection Verses: I Corinthians 13:4-5
Prayer: Lord God, love puts another person’s interest ahead of our own. Love is quiet, at peace and
keeps no records so it does not remember wrongs. Love does not have to say it, it demonstrates itself.
A person who loves is a person who is totally in for the long haul. Lord, I have work to do! I am a work in
progress on this journey of love. Keep loving me, showing and teaching me how to love in Jesus’ name.
Amen.

*June 3
Scripture Readings: Psalm 104:27-35, 2 Samuel 22-23:7, I Corinthians 14
Reflection Verse: I Corinthians 14:3
Prayer: Lord God, Your Word tells us that prophesy (those who speak Your Word) comes directly from
You. A person who speaks Your Words is one who builds up, edifies, exhorts, consoles and encourages
people and the church. I desire to speak Your words, Lord, to others so they are benefitted, properly
advised, comforted, developed and matured in Jesus’ name. Amen.

*June 4
Scripture Readings: Psalm 105:1-11, 2 Samuel 23:7-24, I Corinthians 15:1-34
Reflection Verses: I Corinthians 15:3-4
Prayer: Lord God, the basics of the Christian faith which the scriptures witnessed and testified to are
that Christ died for our sins, was buried and then was raised to new life on the 3

rd day. I believe Jesus
died for my sins, that He was buried, and that He was resurrected 3 days later. Because I believe in
Jesus, I am forgiven of my sins. My past is buried. I am a new person in Christ in the new life I have
been given through Him. Amen.

*June 5
Scripture Readings: Psalm 105:12-22, I Kings 1, I Corinthians 15:35-58
Reflection Verses: I Corinthians 15:56-57
Prayer: Father God, I have no sin that I am conscience of unless the law points it out to me. Once I am
aware of my sin, I know that my sin is my death. But in Christ Jesus I have been delivered from my sin
and I have been given a new life in Him. May I live my life in the full assurance of my new life in Christ.
My old life is gone. The death of sin now has no hold on me. The life I live now is in the victory that
Christ has given me. My sins are gone and I have been set free to the new life Christ has given me.
Hallelujah! Amen!

*June 6
Scripture Readings: Psalm 105:23-36, I Kings 2-3:15, I Corinthians 16
Reflection Verses: I Corinthians 16:8-9
Prayer: Lord God, a door of opportunity to teach and preach was opened for Paul in Ephesus. He did
not know how long it would be open, but he planned to stay until Pentecost. Paul understood that You
were keeping him where he was for a specific period of time. Thank You, Lord, for this place where I live
and serve You. Help me to stay put no matter what comes against me in the place where You, Lord,
have opened for me to be. May I lean on You as I teach Your Word opening up Your grace and love to
others in Jesus’ name. Amen.

*June 7
Scripture Readings: Psalm 105:37-41, I Kings 3:16-5:12, 2 Corinthians 1
Reflection Verse: 2 Corinthians 1:4
Prayer: Lord God, all I have to give away to others is what has been given to me by You. I am able to
comfort others because I have experienced Your healing and comfort in my life. Help me have a
listening ear, a prayer and maybe give a hug to any You bring to me who are afflicted, in the midst of
trials, or have pain in their lives. Give me empathy for those who are going through hard, trying
situations because I can identify with them and offer them comfort from You in Jesus name. Amen.

*June 8
Scripture Readings: Psalm 105:42-45, I Kings 5:13-7:12, 2 Corinthians 2
Reflection Verses: 2 Corinthians 2:14-15
Prayer: Father God, I am Your fragrance in the midst of people. As I move among people, they can
smell You on me. Because I serve You I am told in Your Word that I smell like You. I have a signature
smell. Some people like it and some people don’t like it. Some are drawn to You because of it and
when they are, I am to speak of who You are and the saving grace of Jesus, Your Son. Thank You for
this privilege and the powerful way that I represent You in Jesus name. Amen.

*June 9
Scripture Readings: Psalm 106:1-15, I Kings 7:13-8:21, 2 Corinthians 3:1-4:16
Reflection Verse: 2 Corinthians 3:3
Prayer: Father, I am in bodily form Your written word. People look at me and many know that I am a
Christian. Your Spirit in them relates to my Spirit and we are drawn together because of what You have
accomplished in our lives through Jesus, Your Son. Enable me to seek not only those who I am drawn
to as a fellow Christian but to those You would draw me to who seek to know You and the power of
Jesus’ resurrection. As I am doing this speak through me so they may come to know You and Your Son
Jesus and the salvation He brings. Amen.

*June 10
Scripture Readings: Psalm 106:16-23, I Kings 8:22-9:9, 2 Corinthians 4:17-5:10
Reflection Verse: 2 Corinthians 5:10
Prayer: Lord God, each of us will stand before Christ to be judged by Him for what we have done.
Everything I have done will be looked at by Christ Jesus as acceptable or not. I will be held accountable
for my every action. This being true, Lord, I align myself with Christ to live my life in accordance with His
Word and the grace He gives to me as I have given myself to Him and professed Him as my Savior and
Lord in my life. I praise You, Lord, for this marvelous gift of grace in Jesus’ name. Amen.

*June 11
Scripture Readings: Psalm 106: 24-31, Kings 9:10-11:13, 2 Corinthians 5:11-6:10
Reflection Verses: 2 Corinthians 6:3-4a
Prayer: Lord God, we serve and witness You no matter what it takes. Our focus is on presenting Jesus
to people and trusting You to be there with us as we accomplish this mission. My job is to please You,
Lord, in all that I do. Increase my faith to trust You more. Give me endurance for this journey to complete
this mission for You in Jesus’ name. Amen.

*June 12
Scripture Readings: Psalm 106:32-39, I Kings 11:14-12, 2 Corinthians 6:11-7:16
Reflection Verse: 2 Corinthians 7:1
Prayer: Father God, remove in me everything that offends You. Help me to become aware of those
things in my life that are not pleasing to You and show me how to bring them in accord with Your
standards. Be patient with me when I don’t see some things that You are pointing out to me that are not
pleasing to You. I am Yours and I desire that my life be all Yours. I know that it will take time, but I
desire to live according to Your ways in my life in Jesus name. Amen.

*June 13
Scripture Readings: Psalm 106:40-48, I Kings 13-14:20, 2 Corinthians 8
Reflection Verses: 2 Corinthians 8:10-12
Prayer: Lord God, it is easy to say I want to do something and then not do it. It is easy to get side
tracked. I love starting things but I also love finishing what I start. Lord, may I continue this same
diligence with anything You give me to do. Once I start, I am committed to doing it. I want to finish Your
assignments to the best of my ability and to Your glory in Jesus name. Amen.

*June 14
Scripture Readings: Psalm 107:1-9, I Kings 14:21-15, 2 Corinthians 9
Reflection Verse: 2 Corinthians 9:7
Prayer: Lord, being generous to others is always blessed by You. This generous gift that was given by
these Christians met the needs of other Christians who in turn gave thanks to those who gave the gift
and to You also for Your provision to them. In addition, You, Lord, also blessed the givers. May I be a
generous giver so others are blessed and their needs met. May You be glorified, Lord, in all I do in
Jesus’ name. Amen.

*June 15
a Readings: Psalm 107:10-20, I Kings 16-17, 2 Corinthians 10
Reflection Verses: 2 Corinthians 10:3-4
Prayer: Father God, Paul tells us that we combat evil as Christians using Your weapons instead of our
human weapons of contrived schemes, deceit or ideas. We are to use Your weapons of Your Word,
Your righteousness, prayer, Your truth, faith and salvation. These are backed up by Your power of the
Holy Spirit and are tremendously effective against any forms of evil. Teach me Your ways, Lord. Teach
me how to love as You love and combat evil with Your weapons in Jesus name. Amen.

*June 16
Scripture Readings: Psalm 107:21-32, I Kings 18-19:9, 2 Corinthians 11
Reflection Verses: 2 Corinthians 11:12-13
Prayer: Father God, nothing is equal to Christ! He is above all and exceeds everything. Any other
“religion” is not equal, but is false. Keep me alert to any deception that would distract me as I follow
Jesus. Keep me focused on Jesus and the clear teachings of Your Word that would keep me on the
right path and not to be deceived. Allow me, Lord, to continue to preach Jesus crucified and
resurrected. Increase my faith, my discernment, and my strength to be able to do this in Jesus name.

*June 17
Scripture Readings: Psalm 107:33-43, I Kings 19:10-20, 2 Corinthians 12
Reflection Verse: 2 Corinthians 12:10
Prayer: Dear God, the Apostle Paul tells us that he is content with that which causes him pain and
shows his weaknesses. Not many people I know are able to say that. Most of us want to avoid pain,
look strong and not have people see our weaknesses. Help me, Lord, to embrace what comes my way,
knowing that You are always there with me. May I be content in whatever condition I find myself.
Increase my faith to be able to persevere in Jesus name. Amen.

*June 18
Scripture Readings: Psalm 108, I Kings 21-22:28, 2 Corinthians 13
Reflection Verse: 2 Corinthians 13:5
Prayer: Lord God, I need to examine my faith from time to time to make sure that I know Jesus is my
and Lord and that I am showing my love for him to others by what I do and am among them. May I keep
talking to You, listening to Your voice, reading Your word and believing in You. Keep me faithful, Lord. I
desire to serve You and love You all the rest of my life. Strengthen me as tests to my faith come my way
that I pass them showing forth Your glory in Jesus name. Amen.

*June 19
Scripture Readings: Psalm 109:1-15, I Kings 22:29-2 Kings 2, Galatians 1
Reflection Verses: Galatians 1:6-7
Prayer: Father God, because the Galatians are not firm in their faith they are drawn away from the true
Gospel of Christ to a “look-alike” version of it. Paul tells them they are confused and disturbed, thus, they
are obviously distorting the truth of Your word. Help me to read and study Your word, Lord, so I am able
to recognize and discern the counterfeits that are raised up against it. Enable me to know the truth of
Your gospel and not be distracted from proclaiming it and living in it. Firm up my faith in You, Lord, in
Jesus’ name. Amen.

*June 20
Scripture Readings: Psalm 109:16-25, 2 Kings 3-4:37, Galatians 2
Reflection Verse: Galatians 2:20
Prayer: Lord God, my old life is gone. I now have a new life, given to me when Jesus died for me on
the cross for my sins. My old life has been crucified with Christ and I now live in this new life by my faith
in Him. Enable me to discover the totality of this amazing transformation of this new life I now have in
Jesus. May I grasp all of its reality, enter into all its benefits and know the fullness of its truth in Jesus’
name. Amen.

*June 21
Scripture Readings: Psalm 109:26-31, 2 Kings 4:38-6:23, Galatians 3:1-14
Reflection Verse: Galatians 3:5
Prayer: Lord God, everything of any value that You do in us is from the working of Your Spirit. You are
the one who sends Your Spirit to us, who works miracles among us, and gives us faith to believe when
we hear the Gospel message. I receive what You do, Lord, by faith. Increase my faith, Lord. I desire to
hear You better and to receive more from You in Jesus’ name. Amen.

*June 22
Scripture Readings: Psalm 110, 2 Kings 6:24-8, Galatians 3:15-29
Reflection Verse: Galatians 3:28
Prayer: Father God, every person who believes in Jesus is part of the oneness we have in Him. All who
believe are His Body, heirs of Your promise because we have come to believe by faith. I rejoice and
thank You, Lord, for all my brothers and sisters around the world who believe in Jesus also. I am
thankful for them and this unity we have in Christ. I seek their welfare and desire to see how I best fit
together with them to show this unity we have in Jesus’ name. Amen.

*June 23
Scripture Readings: Psalm 111, 2 Kings 9-10:17, Galatians 4:1-20
Reflection Verse: Galatians 4:7
Prayer: Lord God, if Jesus is my Lord and Savior how is it that I do things and even believe things that
negate that reality? Why do I sometimes embrace things in my life that go against You and what’s good
for me? Strengthen me to stay true in my faith in You, Lord. Give me eyes to see that which is against
You and then not embrace it. I don’t want to be enslaved to anything that would keep me from You. I
desire to be alive in Christ Jesus and led by Your Holy Spirit in Jesus name. Amen.

*June 24
Scripture Readings: Psalm 112, 2 Kings 10:18-12, Galatians 4:21-5:12
Reflection Verse: Galatians 5:10
Prayer: Lord God, there are people who seek to pervert the Christian faith with good sounding unbiblical
arguments and viewpoints. In Christ we know the truth and are able to refute those arguments.
However, there is a judgment awaiting those who seek to turn people away from the Christian faith.
Strengthen me and keep me firm in my faith in You, Lord. Give me wisdom to refute arguments contrary
to the faith and help me stand firm believing in You in Jesus’ name. Amen.

*June 25
Scripture Readings: Psalm 113, 2 Kings 13-14, Galatians 5:13-26
Reflection Verses: Galatians 5:17-18
Prayer: Lord God, as believers we have a war going on inside of us. Will we follow the Spirit’s leading
who now dwells in us or our fleshly desires? My flesh (my old ways) now oppose the leading of the
Spirit’s work in my life. As such, those little fleshly things seem to pop up and get in the way as I grow in
Christ. It is my desire to walk in Your ways and be led by Your Holy Spirit, Lord. Help me to sort out,
identify and come to grips with my fleshly ways clamoring to get their way, seeking to keep me from
walking and growing according to Your Spirit in Jesus’ name. Amen.

*June 26
Scripture Readings: Psalm 114, 2 Kings 15-16,

Galatians 6
Reflection Verse: Galatians 6:9
Prayer: Lord God, what I reap is what I have sown. It takes preparation, planting, watering and growing
time to produce a harvest. I am not to become weary in the process of bringing forth a harvest. There is
no chance of a harvest if any of the steps are left out. The process takes time, so I am to hang in there,
never stopping short of what is needed until the harvest is complete. Lord, give me strength to keep
plugging along trusting in You and not to give up. Father God, enable me to see whatever season I am
in through in Jesus name. Amen.

*June 27
Scripture Readings: Psalm 115, 2 Kings 17-18:16, Ephesians 1:1-14
Reflection Verses: Ephesians 1:7-8a
Prayer: Lord God, salvation comes only through Jesus. Only through Him do I have forgiveness of my
sins. Only in Him am I redeemed and reconciled to You by His death on the cross. Your Son, Jesus,
and only Him, gave this gift of salvation to me and I believe. What a marvelous and wonderful gift. I
accept it and seek to enjoy all the benefits of it in His name. Amen.

*June 28
Scripture Readings: Psalm 116, 2 Kings 18:17-19, Ephesians 1:15-2:10
Reflection Verses: Ephesians 1:18
Prayer: Lord God, in Christ my eyes see as You see. My hope is Your hope. My inheritance is in You
who owns everything. I have understanding. I have hope. I have all I need in Christ. Help me to live in
all this. Enable me to serve You seeing as You see knowing that all things are mine because I am Yours
in Jesus name. Amen.

*June 29
Scripture Readings: Psalm 117, 2 Kings 20-21, Ephesians 2:11-22
Reflection Verses: Ephesians 2:21-22
Prayer: Lord God, no one likes to be told we are not welcomed. I am so glad that You did not put
restrictions on who could come to You. As You have called and placed me into Your Body of believers, I
am being fitted together with others You have called and placed as You build Your Church. Together we
grow as Your Holy people. Enable me, Lord, to be fitted into my proper place in Your Body by You.
Continue to shape me to fit securely in Jesus name. Amen.

*June 30
Scripture Readings: Psalm 118:1-12, 2 Kings 22-23, Ephesians 3
Reflection Verse: Ephesians 3:20
Prayer: Lord God, because of Your power, I can do whatever You ask of me to do, through You. I am
able to base my confidence not in my own abilities, but in Your absolute promises. Encourage me, Lord,
to ask beyond my levels of knowledge and comprehension more of You and what You can do through
me as I yield myself to You and Your power which is within me in Jesus name. Amen.
